And Where Shall We Poo?

It is funny, for about the past 3 weeks Anna has been obsessed with the potty chair. She will go and sit on it and bring the top of it out into the family room. So today in my “wisdom” (not the “” that is because I am not sure if it is wisdom or stupidity here) I decided that we will try the Potty Chair. So we all have breakfast as a family. Then it is time to get out of Pj’s for those still in them and get ready for our day. So I get Anna out of her Pj’s and we go into the bathroom. I sit Anna on the Potty chair and Catherine sits on the big potty to “show” Anna how to use the potty. So we sit for a while, Catherine uses the potty, we wash hands and we are off to get dressed. Well Anna decides she does not want clothes on at all and goes into the foyer were Catherine is serving breakfast to all of her dolls. So Anna joins her and is sitting on the tile with not a stitch of clothes on her body. The next thing I know I hear Catherine yelling “she’s pooing!!!” Sure enough Anna is sitting on the title going poop.

I guess the potty was not good enough for her, for Anna likes the foyer as the perfect bathroom place!

First night with Trainer

Oh my gosh
Well I survived my first work out with Chris…and needless to say I am dead.
I arrived and he had me walk 3 minutes on the treadmill to get warmed up.
Then it was off to weight training. We did three machines to work on my legs, deep knee bins against a ball, pull ups (which I crashed and burned on). Then it was off to my arms, we lifted weights and worked on like 3 machines. Then it was off to work on my back, we did two machines for that.
Then we were off for cardio. Chris had me work on this cardio machine. It is a zero impact machine, he said I have to be on it till I drop some weight. So I was suppose to be on it for 5 minutes. I lasted 3 minutes. Then he took my heart rate and it was 125 which is not good and not bad at the same time.
So that was day one.
I will train with him every Tuesday.

Christopher's 4 month check-up

Today was Christopher's 4 month check up...even though he is really 4 months and 1 week. He did great. He weighed in at 15 pounds 0 oz (still 50%)...he is 26 1/2 inches tall (90%)...and his head is 16 7/8 inches around (50%). He has a slight yeast diaper rash on his front and the Dr. said to use some special stuff on it. Other then that he was wonderful. Poor dude had to get his second round of his 1st four shots. So all is well we don't go back till 4-7-06 for his 6 month check up.

Well I met Chris

Well tonight I went up to the gym while my dad was working out to meet Chris. Chris is my personal trainer...he is also my dad's. So we talked for a bit and he told me to keep track of all that I eat and the times that I eat so he can see what I am doing good and what I need to change. We start at 6:15 pm on Tuesday, February 14th. He said he is going to put me on a cardio and circuit training. I AM SOO EXICTED!

The big 3 0

I can't believe I am the big 3-0 today. LOL I feel like life has just begun and yet I am 30...seems so weird to me.

My birthday has rocked to say the least.

Saturday Tony took me out for my birthday. He started off the day by letting me sleep in some (as much as Christopher would sleep) and then made me breakfast. About 2 pm he gave me a card with a rose on it and said that I was to be treated like a real Princess that night. About 30 minutes later a guy delivered a dozen red roses to the house. That night my mom watched the kids and Tony took me out to dinner at the Savoy. The Savoy is a fancy steak and seafood restaurant here in KC (I have only been there three other times in my life). Then he took me down to the Plaza. He surprised me with a carriage ride through the Plaza in the Cinderella Carriage. I have never done that and so it was soo cool! We ended the night with wonderful coffee.

Then today my parents took me out to lunch and gave me the presents from them. My dad bought me a 6 month gym membership with a personal trainer. I am soo excited. Catherine got me an Avon amethyst and "diamond" bracelet. My mom got me two candles, some panty hose (since I complained last night at Rainbow about the fact that I tore my last pair) and some cute socks that are pink (my favorite color).

Tonight the kids and Tony and I are going out for Pizza at my favorite Pizza place.

Over all it has been a wonderful birthday to say the least.

Christopher's 4 month weight check.

Well Christopher went in for his 4 month weight check...he is 4 months old today. Since he does not see his Doctor till next week I just took him down to the hospital’s breastfeeding support group. He weighed in at 14 pound 5.2 oz!!! That is still at the 50% and doing just great! He gained 1 pound 1 oz in the past month!!!! I am soo happy and so relieved...I always dread taking him to the Doctor for fear they will get after me like they did the girls, but now I know I can go in and not have a thing to worry about!

Anna's 18 Month Check-up

Today was Anna’s 18 month check up. She did so good letting the Doctor listen to her and check her. She received 3 shots and needless to say she did not like them at all. But she is done with shots till she 5 years old. She weighed in at 21 pounds 12 oz (25th percentile), she is 32 ¼ inches tall (75th percentile), her head measured 18 inches (50th percentile). So she is basically tall and skinny like her sister. She does not go back till she is 2 years old now. So everything is wonderful!!

Smurette Cake - started

Ok I bought some cake pans on ebay. One I bought was this pan:

Yes you guessed it.....you are seeing it right...it is Smurfette!! Tony is going to be throwing an 80's party this spring and one of the suggested foods was a Smurf or Smurfette cake. So I got on ebay and found one and I got it for 99 cents!!

Today Catherine and I set out to try to make it. So we backed a cake in the pan and this is what we have so far:

We will start decorating it either Friday or Saturday. I will post more pictures as I decorate it!

Nihon-go dojo

Well unless you speak and read Japanses you have no idea what that title means. Nihon-go dojo means "Japanese Language School". Catherine offically started Japanses Language school on the 18th. Her Grampy is her teacher or in Japanese "Sensei-wa Grampy-o desu" (The Teacher is Grampy). He is giving her the main lesson and I am working with her to view and practice, thus I am learning too. It has been so much fun. This is what we have learned so far:

Nihon-go dojo - Japanses Language School
Sensei-wa Grampy-o dojo - The Teacher is Grampy
ai shi masu - I love you
watashi-wa - I or me
anata-wa - you or me
doko - where
namaie-wa - my name/my name is
konichi-wa - Hello
sayonara - goodbye
domoarigato - thank you (moderately formal)
doitashmashita - you're welcome
moshi moshi - hello (said on the phone)
iie - no
hai - yes

Poor Catherine

Well at 8:30 pm last night as Catherine was getting ready for bed she complained about her tummy hurting again. I ask her if she thought she was going to be sick or did she need to just go to the bathroom. (Sometimes she will get so busy doing stuff she does not poo and then her tummy hurts till she slows down long enough to go poo). So she told me she was going to try to go the bathroom and see if that helps. So off to the bathroom she goes. The next thing I know I hear this sound and I said to Tony "She either has the pookies or she just threw up" then we heard coughing....well that answered that question. So I ran to the store to get some sprite for her and she and Tony cleaned up the bathroom.

At 4 am this morning she came in our room, bringing her trashcan that Daddy put next to her bed into our room and wanted to lay with me. So she laid next to me while I nursed Christopher. Then I look over and she is drinking water out of my water mug (so much for me having my water). Then it was not 5 minutes later and she threw up the water.

So we go to the bathroom and brush teeth again and she crawls back in her bed. I clean out the trashcan and put it next to her bed again. Took her temp but the ear thermometer was giving me funny readings (like 95.7 - goofy thing). She then well back to sleep.

At 7:30 am she was crawling around the floor in our room. So I told her to hop in bed. Told her she could lay on Daddy's side, since he is already at work. So she lays there and asked for some water. So I gave her back my water mug (since it is hers now) and she took some drinks. I went and got her trashcan just in case. Well that lasted about 30 minutes and then she lost her water. I took her temp with the mouth thermometer and it is 99.8 so she has a low grade fever.

It is funny, her biggest fear is she is going to die because I wont let her have any food. I told her she could eat something once we keep water down. She then told me, "well you know what goes in must come out." LOL So we talked about coming out means tinkling and pooping...not throwing up. LOL

So that is were we stand. I have no clue what is wrong with her. The only thing she ate that either I or my parents did not eat was an egg yesterday morning. SO I dunno if it a food issue or a tummy bug, I guess time will tell.

Christopher's 3 month weight check

Well today we had Christopher's 3 month weight check. I took him down to the Hospitals breastfeeding group for the weight check. He weighed in at 13 pounds 4.6 oz. According to growth charts that puts him right at the 25% still!!

Bye Bye Lap Top

As the song says "Another one bites the dust". After 4 years my lap top finally bit the dust. It has been dropped so many times it is not even funny. The past couple of months it has been powering down and acting up. SO yesterday I decided to back up the entire hard drive on to CD's and then I was going to reformat it to see if that would solve the issues. Well let's just say that did not work. It would not stay powered up through 2 of the 5 restore CD's. So Tony took it to work and took it apart, he changed the memory, cleaned out the fan and fixed a circuit he found that was bad. But ultimately it never would stay up long enough to restore. Thank gosh I backed everything up...something just told me it was time to burn off all my data.
So now I have to use Tony's tablet, the server or Catherine's computer. I am going to try to save up to sometime get a new notebook but that will take some time to do.

Christopher's Baptism

Well today was Christopher's baptism. It was funny because today is also the day the church celbrates the baptism of Jesus. What a perfect day!

Catherine was so excited about her brother being baptised that she ran up front before it was even time. Tony went to get Anna and Catherine towards the end of the sermon and Catherine just ran right up front. So our pastor had to bend down and tell her, "It's not time just yet".

Christopher was asleep right before we went up and he got hungry while we were there so he cried at the end.

My Dad was supose to sing, but like the rest of us in our family he has the cold bug so he presented Christopher to the congregation after the baptism. He also went around and presnted to him to all the Lodge members in our church. Following the presentation he todl teh congration that Christopher was indroduced to all his "uncles" that someday he prays that he will join them as a brother in the Lodge.

Needless to say it was wonderful and a few tears were shed. We end had Rev. Andy crying.

Here are the pictures:

Just a thought

With the tragedy that has taken place at the Sago Coal Mine it has me thinking. We often give thanks and think about those who give their lives so that we may live. The number one person being Jesus who gave his life so we can live forever. We think about those who server in our military so that we can be free in the United States and also enable others to be free in their country. We often give thanks to those who patrol our streets and help keep our neighborhoods safe and as crime free as possible. Yet how often do we think about those who put their lives in danger everyday so we may that the luxuries we take for granted. Those who enter the coal mines everyday so that we may have heat or energy. Those who enter power plants so we may have electricity. Those who work around big industrial equipment so we may have our cars to drive, our houses to live in, all those things we just assume we should have or need to have.

I know I am guilty of not giving thanks to those who put their lives at risk so that I can have a nice warm house, a van to drive, gas to put in my van, etc.

Today, when I was hearing the first reports that the miners were found alive, I thought oh how wonderful, and then at 4 am when I was awaken to the news that the reports were wrong, that these men lost their lives, it caused me to think about all of this. Today I make the resolution to be more thankful of those who do things, and put their lives in danger everyday so that I may have the things, that I just seem to take for granted.

Doctor Visits all around.

Well today was Dr. Visits for the kids and here is the run down:

Catherine had her 5 year check-up. She weighs 35 pounds (25%) she is 40 ½ inches tall (50%). They checked her vision and hearing and all was well. She received 3 shots and did not even flinch till shot #3, which burns and then she did cry. She even received a terra because of how good she did.

Anna saw the Doctor because she is running a fever. Her temp was up to 103 but was back to 99.7 when we got to the Doctors. The Doctor found nothing wrong with her other then her right lower molar that is coming in is terribly swollen. She said that the tooth should not be causing that high of a temp, so she must have a virus. To keep giving her Ibuprofen for the temp and try to keep fluids in her, since she does not want to eat right now. Anna weighed in at 22 pounds 2 oz (25%).

Christopher had his 2 month check-up. He weighs 12 pounds 10 oz (50%), he is 24 inches tall (90%), he head measured 15 ¾ inches (50%). He received 4 shots which he was not happy about.

So over all they kids are doing great, other then Anna’s bug.

Catherine's Birthday Cake

Well Catherine turns 5 years old tomarrow (which I can not believe). So today (Sunday) I did her Birthday cake while she is at Ice Skating practice. She is crazy about Cinderella so I put Cinderella on the cake. I am very pleased about the way it turned out, which is funny because normally I hate the work I do, but this I am happy with. I looked at her birthday party napkins and free handed the Cinderella on the cake.

Catherine's 1st Ice Skating Compitition!

Well today was the big day. Catherine has been taking ice skating lessons since Dec of 04. Today was her first Competition. So she was in the Pre-Alpha divisions these are the 4 to 6 year olds. She was the first one to skate today and she brought tears to my eyes, and her Grammi's too. She took 2nd place and got a silver medal. I don't think she realized this was a true
competition and that she might win something, she just thought it was a chance to
perform and have fun.

And to think she has not even been skating a full year.

Here is the video Tony shot of Catherine.
