So here is what we did:
- Got up
- Got dressed
- Made beds
- Together we fixed breakfast for her, Anna, and myself.
- Did the Pledge
- Went over the calendar
- Went over the weather
- Went over the 1st 16 presidents and added president #17 (Andrew Johnson)
- We went over our September song, I found it on line it is soo cute!!
- Then we started our Month Book, we did the title page and did the September page. Because the poem talked about the leaves changing, Catherine drew a picture of a tree with different color leaves.
- Then we did Language Arts, today was Ww day. So we practiced writting our Ww's and made a list of Ww words.
- Then we started on Math. Right now we are learning the words for the numbers. Plus still reviewing adding.
- Then we had free play time and gave Anna her bath, since she fell asleep on the way home last night and did not get a bath.
- Then we got back to school work.
- We did our Bible story which is "The Samaritan Woman at The Well". Catherine's Language Arts book pulls in stories that has the letter or sound we are working on. Only one issue, none of the children's bibles have that story. So I read the story from the NIV bible, changing it some to make it easier to understand and talk about.
- We then made our Bible Book. This is a book we are making full of the stories we learn this year. So Catherine drew a picture of the Samaritan woman, complete with yellow lips (don't ask me why she has yellow lipstick but Catherine said she should).
- Then we worked on more math. We finally got caught up with MATH!! We had gotten behind in Math and I really wanted us on the same lessons of both Language Arts and Math and we did it.
- Then we had Music time. We went and worked on our scales. I am teaching Catherine how to play scales correctly and helping her learn were middle C is.
- Then we did exercises. We worked on bending our knees and standing on one foot, those are things to help with her Ice Skating.
- Then we made lunch. Catherine helped me cook lunch.
- Then Catherine worked on making soft prezels, we made the dough in the bread machine.
- Then it was quiet time. So off to her room we went. She has decided she wants to read the series "Mrs. Piggly-Wiggly" So we read Chapter 1 of the first book.
So that was our school day. Catherine still has ice skating lessons tonight but that is all.
Over all I think our first day of school went well and Catherine had a blast!!!
Even though we don't have to do school or keep track of anything till Catherine would be in 1st grade I am doing it now. This way it gives me 2 more years to make sure we are doing the 1000 hours the state requires and such.
So welcome to Pierce School...the best school in the world. At least Catherine will tell you it is!
